Election before birth:

There are 616 verses that use the word “child” or “children” in the Bible. God often refers to His people – Israel and the saved – as His children. Many of these in the Old Testament speak of God opening and closing wombs to accomplish His will. Obviously, childbearing is very important to Him. Children (and wives) were also used in the Old Testament as a symbol of power and were often stolen and traded to “punish” parents. There are also many verses that refer to “fatherless children.” God has a heart for the orphans. The names of children were very important. Many times children were named for the circumstances they were born into or for what they would become. Often, God Himself chose the name of a child, or even changed a person’s name later in life.
And as for your little ones, who you said would become a prey, and your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there. And to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.
“Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.
1 Chronicles 28:8

Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.
The tree is known by its fruits, a man by his doings, even a young tree by its first fruits, a child by his childish things, whether his work be clean only, appearing good (the word is used Prov. 16:2), or whether it be right, that is, really good. This intimates, 1. That children will discover themselves. One may soon see what their temper is, and which way their inclination leads them, according as their constitution is. Children have not learned the art of dissembling and concealing their bent as grown people have. 2. That parents should observe their children, that they may discover their disposition and genius, and both manage and dispose of them accordingly, drive the nail that will go and draw out that which goes amiss. Wisdom is herein profitable to direct.

On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them. And I thought the dead who are already dead more fortunate than the living who are still alive. But better than both is he who has not yet been and has not seen the evil deeds that are done under the sun.
Or why was I not as a hidden stillborn child, as infants who never see the light?
None shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
Give them, O LORD— what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime, like the stillborn child who never sees the sun.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

We need to be careful not to force our opinions upon others. God’s ways are not our ways, so don’t assume you are 100% right. Remember the liberty that we have in Christ to make choices in love and consider others:
