His Best & Waiting

These beautiful poems were written by Melissa.  We pray that you will find them encouraging and uplifting as you search for answers.

His Best

We would often choose different,

Chosen through the filter of human eyes

And limited understanding,

That does not see eternal perspective;

The story working out

Behind the scenes

Played here on earth.

Sometimes His best

Is not what He “did”.

What happened

Was the result of a fallen,

cursed earth.

Yet, His best

Can be worked out

From the heart-break.

He is Redeemer

No grief

No heartache

Will be unredeemed.

All will be used for His glory.

His best

In light of the eternal

Is our best too.

Unseen now

Seen when we bow at His feet

Uncomprehended on earth

Moving to tears of awe and wonder

In heaven

It was devastation on earth

It is beauty in heaven.

For there is more

A larger story

A story of redemption.

Where everything

Is transformed into purposeful beauty

Reflecting the glory of

A God who loves

Enough to give us

His best

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

Questions unanswered.

What will the end bring?

Knowing might make

The waiting more bearable.

But there is only the unknown,

with nothing controlled.

Except. . .

Rest in the arms of

The One in charge of the waiting.

Fighting ~

These are options

That exhaust and drain.

Better to rest

To lean back in trust,

Even when there is no understanding.

Trusting there is more than can be seen.

Eternity affected,

Beauty created,

In absence,

In loss,

In grief.

And so,

Waiting continues.

Daily waiting,

Sometimes hourly.

Continued delay.

Seemingly no action,

Seemingly without purpose.

What purpose,

this waiting,

In limbo,

Waiting transforms.

Eternity’s story continues to be written

Unseen by human eyes

Not yet grasped by human hearts.

The heart and soul also transformed.

Waiting can produce

The fruit of dried up bitterness

Anger and resentment ~

or it can lend growth to blossom

Of Utter trust,

True Love,

Abandoned Surrender

To The One

Who makes all things beautiful in time,

working all thing to His glory.

Who brings beauty from ashes,

The oil of joy from mourning.

Waiting transforms,

For better or worse.
