Always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:7
Romans 8:35-39 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We almost always act based on our beliefs. If we believe that our God is Who He says that He is, we will ultimately live that out in our daily lives. We should be different because of it. How often do we hear the same truths over and over and never take them to heart? We put our God into a small box that we carry around with us. We say that we trust Him, but we live as if we don’t. We must learn to “walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Read the following passages, and take note of the ones that you truly believe and those that you question, based on how you are living:
Numbers 23:19 – God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Deuteronomy 7:9 – Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
Deuteronomy 10:17 – For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.
Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Psalm 7:11 – God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.
Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 68:19 – Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.
Psalm 70:4 – May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”
Psalm 73:26 – My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 84:11 – For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.
John 4:24 – God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Romans 8:31 – What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 1:25 – For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Hebrews 12:7 – It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Hebrews 12:29 – for our God is a consuming fire.
1 John 1:5 – This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 John 3:20 – for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.
1 John 4:8 – Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Revelation 21:3 – And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
These are some amazing truths about the attributes of our God. Take some time to dwell on these throughout the day. He is so much bigger than any issue we face. What does the way that I live my life say about my belief in God?
“Don’t tell God how big your storm is. Tell your storm how big your God is.”
